Our world is changing everyday. Anxiety and fear, maybe doubt and disbelief, questions of ‘What are we going to do now?’ flood our hearts. You are not alone in all of this. God sees you. He loves you and He is with you. I pray his peace washes over you.
In our efforts as a church to ensure the safety of all of those that attend Cornerstone and those that come in contact with us during the week and adhering to the cdc guidelines found here, we will not be having services in the church building until further notice. We will however, continue meeting on Sundays at 10am online only. We are currently testing different online platforms in which to stream live more effectively and to reach those who are not on Facebook. Be on the lookout for an email later in the week informing you of how we will be conducting our online services.
We will also be posting devotions, videos, songs and requests for prayer throughout the weeks to come on social media and on our website www.kccornerstone.com. How we ‘do’ church may look different, but I want to remind you that we ‘are’ the church. We encourage you to reach out to your family, friends and neighbors during this time through phone calls, texts and social media and see how they are doing. Ask how you can help, how you can pray for them and then pray with them. Now more than ever we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ; to pray, love, serve and give that everyone may experience God’s love in a real and tangible way.
We may not be meeting together in person, but it is still important to give financially to the church during this time. We need to give of our tithes and offerings in order that we can give to our community and those in need. You can write a check and mail it to the church at 6609 N Brighton Ave, Kansas City, MO 64119 or you can give online at paypal.com. Send your payment to firstname.lastname@example.org and mark the box that says to send to friends and family, because you are not receiving goods or services. Maybe you have never given to the church before, and if that’s you, I encourage you to try and see what God will do with your faithfulness. $5 a week is a great place to start.
I cannot say this enough. Please reach out to each other and please let us know how we can be praying for you. If you are sick, or become sick, or know someone else who needs prayer, please let us know. Let us know if you need help getting groceries, need assistance or just need someone to talk to. You can call/text Pastor Sheralyn at 913-908-6368 or Pastor Tamiko at 816-442-5128. We are here for you.
Please pray for your pastors during this time. We need it now more than ever. The decisions I and other pastors have had to make during this time have not been easy. We are doing our best to be obedient to what God has called us to do while making sure we are not putting anyone at risk. We love you and we are praying for you!
Grace and Peace,
